Used and in good condition. The cover is not torn. The edges are stained. Appears something had sprayed on it–probably coffee. However, the pages inside the book were not damaged by this spill. Please see photos of edges.
Binding is broken on pages 72-73 and the back cover. It’s a very thick and heavy book. These are the only places where binding is broken. See photos.
Inscription on inside cover. See photo.
This wonderful edition of Audubon’s Birds of America displays all 435 of Audubon’s brilliant hand colored engravings in exquisite reproductions taken from the original plates of the Audubon Society’s archival copy of the rare Double Elephant Folio. Although many attempts have been made to re-create the magnificent illustrations in Audubon’s masterpiece, nothing equals the level of fidelity or scale achieved in this high-quality edition.
